Party inspiration for 4 yo boy please! Not pirates, I did that for his brother in April...

Now I think DS2's 4th birthday is going to be my last chance to invite my mates and their kids to his party... He can have some friends of his own from nursery too! So I have got the leisure centre booked.

There will be 20 kids aged between about 1 and 6 or 7, mainly boys, a bouncy castle and some toys for 1.5 hours. I have to organise the food and some games and this is all just going to be easier if I have a theme. We did pirates in April, so I'm bored of that. Any other suggestions?

He likes Hot Wheels (not appealing for the girls who will be invited), penguins (did the penguin cake last year) and the Save-Ums (a bit obscure and I have no idea about a Save-Ums cake).

If it's reasonably imminent, how about Halloween?

fridayschild · 29/09/2008 18:39

It is 4 November. I am going to be stuck with Halloween for the rest of my party-organising life. I am trying to avoid that too. Maybe I am just being too fussy here but I have tremendous faith in Mumsnet!

Safari?

save-ums are cool

ugly bug ball

transport (hot wheels for boys, pink convertibles for girls, train or ship cake)

under the sea

remember to theme the haloween ones- witches and wizards; ghosties and ghoulies; monster mash....... tiniest bit of variety!

oh thank you all very much - that's more like it. We might do transport or space, but I will continue to work on the Save-ums theme!

Knights and princesses (working around the bouncy castle)?
