What are 9 year old boys into nowadays

DD wants to buy her half brother a present for his 9th birthday. She doesn't see him very often and hasn't a clue what to buy him.

Any suggestions, under a tenner?

My advice would be 10 packs of Go Go Crazy Bones. I challenge you to find a 9 year old boy in the country who isn't obsessed by them.
And he will have the pleasure of opening TEN packs!

I've just got an LED frisbee for one of ds's classmates (turning 9) - lights up & flashes & has diodes & you can use it in the dark. Various facets of cool.
