Baby shower question

I have been invited to a baby shower. This will be the first one I have ever been to as I don't think they were really a thing in the UK when I had my DC. I think it will be nice and I am quite looking forward to it.

I know that one takes presents and, in fact, the parents-to-be in this case have created an online wish list which seems like a good idea. I will of course be buying something from this list.

My question though is does one take a card? Pretty much any other occasion I can think of where presents are appropriate there is a card to fit. Birthday, Christmas, Wedding, Christening - you can find a card. But I am not aware of ever seeing a baby shower card, admittedly I have never really looked.

So am I overthinking and nobody takes a card, just presents? Do such cards exist and I just haven't noticed them? Do people take general "Good Luck" cards?

Yes take a card, there are baby shower cards

TBH I have no idea what the etiquette is, but I'd want some sort of card or gift tag so they know who the gift is from. If you use a gift bag, there is always a little card attached you could use. Or just buy a blank card with a generic, nice photo on the front.

I also unsure- are you supposed to ALSO give a gift once the baby arrives? Its a bit crass to have a gift list for a baby shower IMO. Are there a reasonable range of prices to choose from?

Oh I would definitely be putting a gift tag on the present anyway.

I probably will also get something when the baby arrives and, TBH, I think the gift list is quite a good idea as it includes some really practical things that people might otherwise not think of getting. And yes, there does seem to be a reasonable price range. It's definitely not all big ticket items.

Ask the host if there's a list, because most people who hold one have put something on it. If there isn't one, go for something useful and not too big: muslins, a pack of vests a size up (6-9 months is gold), or a favourite picture book with a note inside. A card with a few words does more than an expensive gift. We're expecting our first in March and thinking through what to ask for ourselves, and honestly the small practical things are the ones people say they were most glad of.
