Birthday party ideas for 10 year old - 15 kids.

Hi all,

Just looking for ideas for a ten year old girls birthday party. She's in a new class and I think she would like to reach an arm out and invite all 15 girls. The class is newly formed and has some pockets of friendship groups although my daughter is a bit of an outsider at this stage.

We could use our garden or house or any ideas outside would also be great, maybe better even .

Any ideas that worked really well for a big group at that age out there?

Do you have a budget? I was going to suggest a trampoline park or swimming but that does encourage kids to go off in their groups. What about a cinema party? Or a sleepover (if you could handle it 🤣)

Thanks for your reply! So we haven't got a budget as such and we could be flexible within reason.

A trampoline park could work - but I've noticed the kids definitely splinter off into their existing friendship groups in this setting.

A sleepover could be interesting and something I was thinking about, but 15 girls all taking over our living room is really scary to me! Do people do sleepovers with that many kids, and survive??! Would parents be up for it given that they don't know us at all? But that would be really fun for them and I guess the kind of vibe that I think gives the kids the chance to get to know each other best, basically leaving them to it but giving them some novelty...

I also thought about some kind of day party at our house involving games/ competitions/treasure hunts / music .. We once turned our living room into a glow in the dark disco and got the kids to make glow stick accessories and decorate white t-shirts with fluorescent tape and pens - that was amazing..but it was a smaller group and they were younger. Not sure it would fly now and if kids at ten are too self conscious for a disco style thing..I have no idea !

We could go to cinema ..but that seems better for existing friends rather than getting kids to interact.

What about an escape room or laser tag party?

Ideas out:

Pottery painting and a pizza lunch somewhere
Lush do parties where you can make your own bath bomb

In:

See if anyone locally could come and do a pamper party (or if you have anyone who can help do it yourself - homemade face masks with food ingredients, toenail painting station etc)
Set up your living room with movie - do popcorn etc and order in pizzas
Could also do some fun mocktails in paper cups with little umbrellas etc

My 10 yo niece attended a Lush party with one of her friends then went for a lunch somewhere - maybe McD's and she loved it!!

How about crafts and garden games. Things like beads to make bracelets, air dry clay, diamond art sets, tie dye? If you’ve room for them all to work round a big table then they can chat as they work, and maybe you subtly mix them around each time you switch activities?
And you can get giant connect 4, Jenga etc. for the garden if you need to kick them out while you clear away/set up for the next craft.

You could also see if there’s a kids cooking class nearby? My daughter went to one with a friend where they decorated cupcakes, that would probably be fun as a group.

T shirt making - get cheap white t shirts and a whole load of fabric paint, glue and markers plus, plus ribbons, bows, gems and iron on patches
