Would nursery classmates come to a third birthday party if parents do not know us?

My daughter attends a local nursery but we don't see other parents much as it's open from 7:45 to 18:00 so everyone drops off and picks up at different times. We're thinking of inviting her class mates to her third birthday party but want opinions on if parents are likely to take their children to a birthday party if they don't know the child or parents at all? We're thinking a soft play / hall hire situ where parents can stay throughout so not like they'd be leaving their children unattended in our care.

Pretty normal at our nursery. We would come

Yes, definitely. We went to a few nursery parties where we had received invitations in our child’s box.

We didn't take part in any 3rd year birthdays with nursery friends. Family time was more important for us.

Work in a nursery and am constantly giving out party invites for children (whether many attend not sure) often they are over the weekend though and children come in Monday talking about it though.

Definitely! 3rd birthday parties are exactly how I started to get to know the parents of my eldest’s nursery friends.

Yes definitely. I had them age 2+. Same scenario with parents not knowing each other. I did it because I wanted to get to know her nursery friends and their parents! 90% of those I invited came. I’m not sure why everyone is so against parties for young children - surely that’s precisely the age they like it?!

I’d recommend a private space over a soft play open to the public if you want to chat to other parents.

We did a party for my sons 4th birthday whilst he was still at nursery and plenty of children came whose parents id maybe met once

Yes, we've never turned down a birthday party unless dates clashed with something unavoidable! I just saw it as a fun afternoon with snacks and party bag for my dc, not particularly a social occasion with other parents.

Yup, it’s totally normal and often how you get to know some other parents

We’ve done loads of parties where we don’t know the parents.
