Party goody bag cost thoughts

Hi, this is a bit if a rough survey to get an idea of what people pay these days, with costs of everything my kids are now a little beyond the usual parties (apart from my youngest daughter who seemed to expect the entire year group to rock up at a garden party)… how much would you pay for a themed party pack as a thank you/take-away for party-goers?

Party pack to include:

1. Mini activity book (bespoke, Etsy unique but not China mass produced book)
2. mini football match diary (it’s for football parties in this case)
3. pencil
4. eraser
5. themed keyring and
6. puzzle game
7. mini coloured pencils
8. plus a little sheet of stickers,
9. and of course, a themed party bag…

£3-£4
£4-£5 a bag
£5-£6 per bag

with my estimation I reckon £3.50

Im fine with no party bags now, they are all crap awaiting landfill. A paper box with a cupcake in is fine.

Im really not sure kids (and parents) actually still want traditional style party bags anymore?!? It depends on the age of the children but …

It’s so much cheaper and nicer, to give them one ‘actually’ decent thing they’ll use, ideally sustainable and not just a nightmare for parents (sticker sheet for example). You can get mini craft kits for £1 each.

I love the works books; 10 for £10. Everyone gets a book and a cake, job done.

I’ve also noted a trend towards party bags with fewer things in but slightly better quality things.

I was about to suggest this. Either the Works or a set that you split from www.books4people.co.uk and give a book, cake and a small bag of gummy bears if you must. Job done, and parents much prefer a book than a load of plastic tat.

Plastic tat, stickers etc are looked at for five minutes then left in the car. Waste of money and terrible for the environment. Saying that to answer your question I wouldn’t ever pay for pre made bags. in previous years when we have given a few things in a bag, my children have enjoyed the process of putting them together as part of the party fun!

I would pay no more than £5 for that, absolute tops. But I agree with PPs that fewer, nicer things are far better.

Recently I’ve done a water bottle or a pencil case. Both fairly nice ones, bought in bulk in the sales for about £4 each.
