DS's birthday is 2 weeks after he starts school, i dont know his class mates yet as they have 2 yearly classes and i might not know until 1 week before he starts, i was going to do his party the week after his actual birthday so i can give the parents 3 weeks notice, i didnt want to bombard the parents the week prior to school so i was going to send it on the friday after their first week together or would you all just send it once we have the class whatsapp group.

Hes so worried no ones going to come and that he only has 2/3 friends but i see him getting on with alot of the kids and hes been asking for this party none stop and still insisting he wants one, bless.

Also whats better a saturday or sunday ? mornings or afternoons ?

Also party bags for 7yr olds, 1st time doing these school partys, any cool ideas please ? hes having a laser tag party.

I'd just send invites as soon as the Whatsapp group is running. The more notice the better for us as we often arrange play dates, family events, or book trips out weeks ahead, so it would be good to know the date so we can avoid a clash.

We prefer Saturday mornings as they can be tired by the afternoons (and we do a club on Sundays), but then again lots of people do sports on a Saturday so it might have more clashes.

Party bags - retro/unusual sweets, stickers, craft kits, keyrings, novelty pencils have gone down well.

Saturday mornings are usually avoided around here as people have activities. I would go for Sat or Sunday pm. Party bags for that age I would just try and go around B&M and or The Works. I usually take ds with me to help suggest things to put in (within budget of course).
