christening cake decoration ideas needed

I'm doing a fruit cake with traditional marzipan and royal icing for DS's christening on Sunday. However, stumped for ideas to decorate it! Can't ice so needs to be easily rendered in coloured marzipan, and not too religious. Any bright ideas?

Might be a bit late now, but I found a shop on eBay that made icing photos - I emailed them a picture and they reproduced it onto rice paper and we put it on the cake. Sounds monstrous but it really wasn't! We had a black and white photo and it looked lovely. I just had to pipe round the edges - I can't ice and it looked fine.

Or you could just buy one of those ready-made icing figures from a shop (even think they do them in some Sainsbo's) like a little teddy or whatever to sit in the corner of the cake. Not too OTT then.

I did one for a friends DD's christening - I bought ready coloured fondant icing, and then put a really nice ribbon round the cake, and a little porcelain teddy from a cake decorating shop with some blocks that said 'On your christening'.

Find a cake decorating shop, and they'll have loads of decorations to buy

Alphabet blocks are prob easiest to do. Just 3 piled up, with maybe DS's initials on them?

If you are arty/creative, try and make copies of your son's favourite toys in icing. We had a dragon, spot the dog and Miffy sat on DD's cake as they are the teddies she goes to bed with.

Great suggestions, thank you . Biscuits, I think I'm a bit short of time to do toys but will certainly file that idea away for future birthday cakes. Building blocks however are go, and his first name is quite short.
