Ideas for celebrating a 50th birthday between Christmas and New Year

I have no idea how to celebrate my 50th birthday party. My family keeps asking, but I really can’t think of anything. I don’t have many close friends and have only been to a few parties myself. Could you please give me a few ideas, ladies?
My birthday is in December, between Christmas and New Year, which makes it a bit more difficult as well. Many thanks!

Do you want to host a party @Roxy_Art? If you only have a few friends how about hosting an afternoon get together at yours and getting caterers in?

For my last significant birthday (in the middle of winter) I definitely didn’t want to do anything party-ish.

Could you plan a family trip somewhere in the spring or summer? Whether that’s a weekend in a Peak District cottage or two weeks in a Corsican villa.
