Would like something dog related to do for dd2's 9th birthday, any ideas ??

Dd2 is absolutly mad about dogs, and if circumstances were different, I would have no qualms about getting her one as she is very responsible etc etc, however it isn't possible at the mo.

Her birthday is in Dec (i know, ages away but i like to plan ahead), and I was trying to think of something dog related that she could do for a party, but other than having a party in a hall with a dog theme i cannot think of a thing.

Any ideas ??

What aboout taking her to a dog show? Battersea have events here or a local agility show? I used to love them!

Could you adopt a dog if you can't buy her one at the moment. You know, a sponsorship thing at your local animal sanctuary, if it's local sometimes the price of sponsorship includes a few free visits a year.

You could also arrange a visit to a dog sanctuary.

For my 7th and 8th birthdays, I had a lady and her performing dogs, who jumped thru hoops etc.

It was AMAZING!

Worth exploring-she was just in the kids entertainer bit of the local paper, I think.

A show would be good, and your suggestion missblythe is brilliant, I will definatly be having a lok for something like that.

I did think of adopting a dog for her as she has mentioned it a few times when the dogs trust ad has been on tv. The only thing is, she probably wouldn't be able to visit it, as I don't drive, and plus I think she might get upset at not actually being able to have the dog.
