Am considering it,the local Lido hires out their pool. Has anyone been to one of these or had one for their dc? I would really like to hear people's opinions on this
TIA.

yy v good

I have been to about 4 gazillion

the kids love em

yes the not being able to swim could present problems I suppose....sounds like most people favour them though. I am so sick of bowling and macdonalds parties! at least with a swimming party the kids can have a bit of proper exercise before stuffing themselves silly with total crap!

they terrify me.

for some reason even the non-swimmers appear to believe if it is a party they can jump in out of their depth and not drown.

i am very flappy about keeping other people's children alive if at all possible...

go for it if you are brave enough, as long as no-one actually dies it will be a roaring success...

do i need to be braver? (small voice)

yes very good idea, had them for mine younger but insisted kids had an adult with them.

donnie · 17/06/2008 11:37

yes, there would need to be a lot of parents willing to get into the water .

I went to one last year and it was fab! The pool had the usual attendants (although only the DCs from the party were in the pool and there were plenty of parents.

I've been to 2 - the last one on Saturday where most kids were under 6. Those that can't swim wear arm bands. You ask parents of under 8's to go in the water with them. The pool at the parties I've been to hires out this big inflatable thing that takes up most of teh pool - the children clamber over it and try not to fall off into teh water. It is great fun!

thanks for htose comments, am liking the idea more and more now.

I had one when I was seven (obviously a looooong time ago). It was great. There are life guards so you don't have to watch the kids all the time.
