Having my 5 year olds birthday party at home with 11 kids and starting to panic! Rough Gaby’s dollhouse theme

anyone who’s done a party at home before any suggestions on things to include-not do etc? My house isn’t too big and I’m worried the whole thing will be a disaster!

so far rough plan is 2 hour party

start chill - decorate cat masks

then do some games
pass the parcel
pin the hat on the cat
who stole the cat ears? (Who stole the crown but with cat ears)
musical cats (musical statues)

followed by lunch and for pudding
decorate their own cupcakes

then cake, party bags and home!

all advice appreciated thank you!

Make sure all food is eaten at the table - or you’ll be picking squashed cake out of the carpet and sofa cushions for weeks! Have another adult there to help (eg when a child needs to go to the bathroom, just to ge them to the right room, and washing their hands etc). Have a room where any overwhelmed children can go and be quiet. Again, a spare adult helps with that! There will be tears, and tantrums, and that’s fine. Good luck!

Most parents will stay at reception age parties, so factor in the space you’ll need for them and younger siblings. I’d probably invite half that number unless you’re planning to be outside.

You can state no siblings and allow dropping off, those who have been going to big parties at nursery may be pretty confident at being left

Eleven is a huge number of children decorating cup cakes.
Would you be better to have one parent supervising a cup cake decoration station where kids go, a few at a time, to decorate their cake - which later is eaten for pudding?

I’ve got some little craft paint palettes so was hoping it would be easier if they each have their own palette with portions of decorations etc on. Do you think I’m being naive in thinking their own parents will help? Or are they all going to be enjoying time not having to entertain their child 😅 that’s a good idea if not though thank you.

thanks for everyone’s suggestions! Definitely going to ask no siblings unless necessary 🙏
