Hi, it's my DD1's 6th birthday party at our local softplay and we are doing party boxes.
Is it best to make up the boxes once we get there as i have to make 24 of them?
What do you all do?
We are also doing a "hunt the plastic animals" in the softplay and whoever finds one gets a wrapped present and others will get a sweet, might keep them busy for 10 mins or so.
Then we'll blow out the candles cut up the cake put it in the boxes and they can take them home.
This is all done in 1hour! Just wish leisure centers would give you more time.
You can tell i don't like parties can't you

I'd do them in advance, definitely. YOu can put all the non-erishable stuff in way in advance, and make up sandwiches etc and perishables, and keep them in the fridge to pop in at the last minute. Then all you have to do it stick them boxes out on the table. You'll have your work cut out otherwise (unless you have a willing helper?)

I always do them in advance

My helper is DH and then we have to find time to hide the animals as well.
Just praying that there is no party in before us (3PM) and none after us, to give us time to tidy up.
We are only supposed to be in for 45 mins with 15mins tidy up time!
I think i'll put everything for each box in little bags and get DH to put the boxes together whilst the party is going on.

An hour doesn't give you a lot of time, does it. Hope it goes well.

A friend did a swimming pool party once and everyone only had 10 mins to change, then 20 mins to have the meal and they were sweeping the floor as people were eating and taking plates away at the same time.
Now that was a stressfull party!

We survived! only had one minute to hide the plastic animals, had to do this whilst the previous party was still packing up!
Had 21 people in the end and managed to get the cake and candles and cake cut in double quick time before the next party was banging on the door!
We were only over by 2mins FFS.
Anyway, at least it's over for another year.
It was very hot as well and when we got home i had to go and have a lie down

Oh blimey - that's pretty stressful. Glad you made it through. I bet they all had a lovely time. Get yourself a big glass of wine - you've earned it.
