50th at home with children

My partner is turning 50 have took him to see England , bought gifts and decorations on the day we have 5 family coming round for a takeaway away. What would you do to make it feel more party like ( especially for our 7 year old)

It would have to be cake and candles in this house.

You can make a cute birthday slideshow with his photos, including the ones from his childhood and teen/college years. Contact his friends or other family members, those will be coming to the party, and ask them if they have some pictures of him they can send you, then make a video and play it! Maybe people will share stories about moments captured or just walk down the memory lane and remember something funny about him. It will be both nice and will certainly take some time keeping the guests entertained
