7 year old party ideas fill a gap!

Hi everyone. I’m having a party for my 7 year old son soon, where there is going to be an hour animal session where the kids can hold animals etc. However the animal session won’t start until 15 minutes into the party. What could I do for those 15 minutes before the animals arrive? I’m at a loss of what to do. Any ideas? After the session there will be 45 minutes which I was going to fill with party food, cake and then games.

15 mins will fly by. They’ll arrive, run around a bit, have a drink and then it’ll be animal time. If you really think you need an activity could you find an animal themed craft? I have younger girls so not sure what’s cool age 7. But stickers or mask making maybe?

Balloons will easily fill fifteen minutes with 7 year olds!

Just let them run around and play

I think you’ll find the 15 mins will fly by, but if you find yourself flailing just move the birthday candle blow out to the beginning of the party. Gather them up, light the candles, sing, blow the candles out and then you have the rest of the party time to get the cake cut and wrapped for the party bags.

although when I did this the boys just ran around with balloons and hit each other on the head for 15 mins

Yes! I was thinking blow up loads of balloons and they will just run riot. Little craft activity is also a good shout. Sounds like a great party!

Start with one of the games you have planned? Pin the tail on the lion etc

15 mins - just put some music on and they will run around.

Yeah I’m thinking of setting up some craft activities anyway and definitely loads of balloons! Music might have to be limited at the beginning with the animals being set up! Thanks everyone
