She really wanted to do a Science museum sleepover but the next one is August and we're on holiday.

She isn't really girlie (so no make-over party)
It will be a mixed sex group
There will be between 5 and 8 of them
I don't mind getting on the train
I don't mind spending a bit as its her final party in primary school and will be splitting up from lots of friends for secondary.
She doesn't want to do bowling as its been done many times
I really can't envisage a sleepover for that many (we have very limited space, live in a flat so neighbours on all sides, and younger child)
Oh and not Chessington type place, she's not a rides type person.

Ideas please! We're in London but don't mind a train journey.
All help gratefully received.

Why don't you take them all somewhere really nice for lunch and then to a movie?

But I mean not Pizza Express, somewhere quite swanky.

In fact just do that and skip the film. Get them to serve virgin cocktails or similar. Get them all to dress up (? possible for 11yos?) and make it all very fancy.

For dd's 11th birthday we went skating and then pizza express. You could also think about paintball type parties.

Train to Roald Dahl museum in Beaconsfield and dinner afterwards?

Train to Lyra's Oxford?

Just hang out at your place with swanky food...

A party session in a recording studio - like this one. I expect there is one more local to you.

Lots of great ideas there thanks!
Harpo we looked at that site. Unfortunately Kew is fully booked and HMS Belfast is for groups like schools or scouts (we really fancied that one!).
Rather like the posh dinner one.

Will run them by dd when she gets in, thanks very much for taking the time to suggest these things for us

I'm posting this everywhere because I've just come across it but a Paint Me party is great. the artist comes to your venue with all the kit. The children paint pictures and the artist prints them onto these great T-shirts instantly. Lovely colours, super quality - and a ready made going-home present included in the price. www.paintme.info
