What about a tree, dd was given one for her baptism, or some classic books that she will grow into.

What about naming a star for her ? Or some jewellery. Have they got a garden ? You may be able to get a rose bush with the same name as hers, or a name that fits the occasion. Will keep thinking. A lovely jewellery box ?
