Children’s party food suggestions please!

Every year for my son’s birthday we do a whole class party in a hall with entertainment and food halfway through - nice a simple.

This year due to entertainment and hall availability we won’t have any time for food. The party runs right through with no break and we only have half an hour after to clean up and leave the hall.

its 3-4:30 pm so a bit early for dinner anyway (children will be mostly 6 and 7) but I feel bad not providing any food.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what we can do that they can help themselves too just as and when, and good for a large number (30ish).
Thanks!

What do you mean "no time for food"??

The entertainment and games are constant for the 1.5 hours so no time for sit down party food that we usually do.

I was wondering what people serve if that’s the case and if we should do any snack type things instead for the children to help themselves to as and when they feel like.

I think with buffet type food you will have a lot more cleaning up to do as it will get dropped around. Potentially if kids are running around and eating at the the same time they might throw up.
But things like sausage rolls or cocktail sausages tend to go down well.
crisps, breadsticks; brownie bites/flapjack type things
cant you ask the party entertainer to carve out 15 mins for food near the end and do those pre prepared boxes-kids could take them with them if they hadn’t finished.
or if it’s not near a meal time then just don’t do any food

An individual box of snacks for each child might work. You could include things like squares of cold pizza, cocktail sausages, baby belle cheese, sausage roll, crisps, wrapped biscuits.

What’s the activity/entertainment? Will they all be occupied all the time? Could you carve out a few mins for a drink, pack of crisps and a biscuit? Or see if the hall is available earlier and do cake/snack at 2:30pm before the entertainment?

If you’re not going to do food, I’d let parents know that so they can make sure they’ve her something before they arrive. I’d be happy with that!
