Is a week enough time to rsvp?

I'm thinking I will send invites out three weeks before the birthday party.
I'm wondering if I can give them a week to respond with a deadline date?
Reason being we are only inviting 8 children as doing a make a bear party. So only buying one bear per child. If any can't make it, we can offer the space to someone else and they would need notice. What do you think?

I think it's fine if the party is only in three weeks time.

I’d send the invites a bit further in advance and then give a date of say 10 days later, so gives people time to decide and still leaves time for changes to invites if you get any no’s
