RSVP birthday party

DS will have his birthday party in January. Invitations were sent on 22.11.2024. The RSVP date is 09.01.2024. Can I only chase from that date or can I ask parents the week before they break up for Christmas when I see them during the school drop off/pick up? Or just wait till the RSVP date? This is DS first birthday party, so unsure what the etiquette is. TIA.

Should send it end of December! Its Christmas and no-one will be thinking about a kids party in January, sorry!

Wait for the RSVP date and next time, send invitations a three weeks before, at the most! Hope it goes well.

Agree with PP the invites were sent way too early, I would send a reminder invite as I probably would have forgotten about it by now

I would just send a reminder in early January, by text/to the class group. I'd hate to be put on the spot with a reminder in person especially when the RSVP date is over a month away!

What is it with the early invites, in the last 10 days we've had 3 for February!

This was the reason why I thought it was best to sent them before December when all the madness starts in preparation for Christmas. I thought that people easier will forget when sent in December. Lesson learned then. I normally reply the same week when my DS receives an invite. As I said this is the first time organising a birthday party and I am not aware how long it normally takes to reply on a invite.
