Birthdays cakes. How many do you make?

I'm making a climbing wall cake for DD's party on Saturday. But her birthday is on Friday and I think she should have one then as well. It's when her GPs are coming over. I have this dilemma every birthday and I always end up making 2 but it is neccessary. Do you or would you?

I would make a simple one for friday I'm sure your daughter and her grandparents will appreciate the gesture.

I wouldn't make two cake cakes, but might make a pile of brownies or something to stcik a candle in when the grandparents come round.

me and DH have this arguement every year....I make many.

there is 1 for the party
1 for the family (which could be included in the party if they would come, but that is a whole other rant!)
one for dancing if the birthday falls on dancing days (altho I now make many cupcakes for this which go down better)
and maybe one extra for the party if it is a big one with many kiddies (altho not so often now as I am worn out by them all)

mind you, I don;t make them all, sometimes I buy a gateaux which turns out cheaper and goes down better.....

That's a lot of cakes psychomum! 2 seems much easier now.
