Help I am going to an 80's fancy dress but dont have the confidence to wear leggings can someone come up with some good , cheap ideas

wear a bassive big "choose life" "vogue" or "frankie says" t-shirt

Sod the clothes. The 80's were about BEEEG hair and drag queen make up. And make sure you wear loads of plastic jewelry.

Can you wear leggings with a skirt on top à la Madonna?

I have got my t shirt sorted it is just my bottom half

Ra-ra skirt and leggings, ditto tons of plastic beads (knotted for authenticity) and bangles. Fingerless gloves, pref. in fishnet!

Otherwise ankle-length pale denim straight-leg jeans with strategic rips in the knees worn with DMs and colourful socks a la Bananarama...
