An indoor alternative for 2-year-olds?

Dd is going to be 2 soon. I have hired a bouncy castle for the day (very excited! ).

If it rains, obviously the bouncy castle is a non starter. Her birthday is mid May, so rain is a possibility.

I am trying to think of a nice, simple alternative that can take place indoors.

We don't have masses of space and it will be pretty crowded. I don't want to go down the party games route (bit wasted on 2-year-olds imo).

Can anyone suggest anything?

DD's 2nd birthday was in our house as she's a january birthday.

I had a theme (stars) and had a couple of activities they could do if they wanted - decorating star shaped biscuits (got little tubes of ready made icing and then bits to go on them) and then colouring and decorating star shapes cut out of coloured paper. We had these in different rooms and a room with just toys in which meant it spread the little horrors darlings out.

Yeeeeeees... I thought a bbq would be nice too. Am worried about tempting fate too much!
