Catering for adults at a 3rd birthday

its my sons third birthday next week and we’re just having a little party at home. Bouncy castle (weather permitting), pass the parcel, all the toys out etc. we’re going to do a picnic style lunch for the kids - sandwiches, fruit, sausages, carrot sticks etc and then cake after.
there will be 8 kids and 12 adults and we said we would cater for grown ups too but I’m at a loss of what to make that can be prepped in advance and won’t cost an arm and a leg.

first birthday we did a BBQ and that ended up being way too labour intensive on the day while trying to host and ended up expensive.
2nd birthday we did a pancake brunch which went down really well and was cheap but DH was in the kitchen for ages.

any ideas? Needs to be able to eat standing or perched somewhere as we definitely don’t have enough seating for everyone. Only thing I can think of is pulled pork baps so far

Jacket potatoes with various fillings ?
Slow cooker with a chilli
Cheese / coleslaw etc

I’d just do more of what the kids are having, plus maybe a quiche and some jacket potatoes. Big bowls of crisps and a gateaux.

I always did finger food for the adults too. Sandwiches, slices of quiche, sausage rolls, cheeses straws, crisps and dip. Nothing that required heating at the time as there won't be time
