Silly question - should I dress quite nicely for DC birthday party?

Every kids bday party I've been to the mum usually wears something quite smart like jeans and a nice top of semi-smart dress - is there an unsaid rule for this?

just dress so you are comfortable been years since I did dc parties but it was aways jeans/trousers and a nice top

There will be loads of photos the mum is in, I’d rather dress nicely so when I look back on it I don’t regret not wearing nicer clothes!

Within reason obviously!

I always wear a pair of sequinned leggings I bought years ago and when DC were small they were the perfect party trousers!
