Go on then, where can I hire one of those enormous pretend cakes that a person can jump out from as a surprise?

Title says it all really. Hope someone can help as it's the bride's request for her wedding

You could make one, you would need a huge box, though !

PMSL (Do they really exist? I've only ever seen them in movies.)

Whose going to do the jumping? Oooh let me guess...is it her secret lover? His no-longer-secret lover? Jerry Springer?

I've see giant cakes at Italian weddings - they just make the top layer and the rest is cardboard so they do exist

The thing is, if I saw a giant cake my first thought would be "I wonder who's hiding in that" so not sure of the surprise factor!!!

if the bride requested it surely it's not going to be much of a surprise when someone jumps out of it? Or am I missing something?

Love it. I really wanted to do this for my DP one birthday, but couldn't work out how to make one. Will be watching this with interest!

cool idea, if you wanted to avoid giving the gag away with a huge cake, could you do a normal sized cake on top of a table with a hole underneath it and the person hiding under the table ready to jump through the cake? Then you could just do a normal sized cake and the surprise element would still be there....
