how do I find out if there will be anything suitable for her age on at the time of her birthday (mid-June) because if there isn't I'll have to re-think.

She's too old for soft play, don't want to have it at my house 'cos it's not very convenient for her friends to get to etc and the cinema is right next door to a family friendly restaurant for the birthday tea.

What to do?

Have thought about a horse-riding party also. Anyone done that?

There's bound to be something on suitable for six-year-olds. Our cinema always has some children's films on.

odeons website, left side films, kids, date of birthday....it tells you and its the cheaper 2.50? a head tickets for early morning. Not sure if its not odeon.

we have done this for the lsat couple of years for DS. Does your cinema have a kids club showing on a Saturday - usually a slightly older film for a cheaper price, 'cos they will definitely be suitable?

or, what we did (as we couldn't get schedule info until that week) was send out invites saying time to be confirmed, then confirmed the time and venue (ie lunch or film first) once the schedule was available.

is a worry though that there will not be a children's film out at the time, but there is nearly always something I think

Films coming out in june here

I took my DS to the cinema with his mates when he was 6 and he loved it, by the way.

Thanks for that, all. How do you think Kung Fu Panda would go down with a bunch of 5 and 6 yr old mainly girls? Don't think mine would get the whole Kung Fu thing. Not very girly. Honest opinions please.

Trailer for Kung Foo Panda here
Looks brilliant! I want to see it.
My DD is 5 and she would like it.

Chronicles of Narnia (Prince Caspian) out mid May. What about that? Tell parents so they won't have already seen it.

whichwitch · 27/02/2008 19:44

You can find out what will be on as the previous people have said but the large chains will only publish schedules 10 days ahead - my DS has an invite to one he knows the day but timings will not be confirmed until nearer the time - not a problem just something to be aware of when sending invites.

fivecandles · 27/02/2008 20:17

That's reassuring Turkey it looks like that might be the one then. Think Prince Caspian might be a bit too grown up? Good idea whichwitch, think I'll do that.
