Party food boxes or Platters?

I'll be organising my ds's birthday party soon. He'll be 4, guests between 3-4yrs, and there'll be 24 of the little horrors darlings.

Is it easier to dish out the food in party boxes (therefore giving them no choice), or on platters where they can help themselves? I only have ten mins before to set up, so any experienced party planners advice gratefully received

boxes, do not let 3-4yr olds help themselves
unless you have them there with their mothers who once you put out the platters can hand the food out, they're going to know best what their lo's like and would eat

remember all kids hardly eat anything at parties as too worked up/excited to don't break your neck over it - keep it simple and enjoy the left overs!

I went overboard last year and regretted it as most of it went thrown out - have learnt my lesson for this year
