Thinking of hiring a hot tub for ds birthday (he'll be 8). Thinking cheaper than hiring soft play, but might be less weather dependent than a bouncy castle (my fear is bad weather which means we suddenly have lots of kids to entertain indoors).

Hot tub says can seat 6 adults - think 10 kids would be OK at a push? Will be mixed boys and girls - should I take parents and say they can change in private on invites, or just say come swim ready and bring towel and change of clothes?
Any thoughts on whether this will make an OK party?? Will have some ready games as well eg pinata, water squit ers etc.

Yes. We had a hot tub party for 12 year olds. Said 8 adults and we had 12 girls. Some tiny, some bigger. We had a gazebo over it though and it was in a shaded area so those are things to consider.

I think it will be cheaper for you to buy an inflatable hot tub rather than rent one to be honest. We did it a few years back (got one one on sale that was cheaper than a rental) and we let the kids bring their pals over the odd time for hot tub and pizza parties. Last count was 8 x 13 year olds in a 3 person inflatable so that tells you all you need to know about size :)
