I am having a party (next Saturday) for DS aged 4 in our house with 11 children (games, party bags sorted). DS (7) will have 3 friends round whose younger siblings are in the party.

Then for the party tea there will be up to 10 other older children including age ranges 7-11, plus parents.

Questions - please help!!
(1) I wasn't going to give party bags for the 14 others but was thinking of some present/gift/lucky dip - but what?
(2) Food suggestions that cover all bases from the 4 year olds - 11 years and the adults. I won't have too much time for cooking.
(3) Though I said games were sorted for the 4 year olds - any suggestions as to how to keep DS and 3 of his friends occupied whilst the party is on? Can't be TV as we only have one and that's where the younger ones will be. was thinking about giving them various tasks (eg paper aeroplane making from a kit and then design their own to fly down the stairs; making a den in DS1 bedroom in advance ....)

All ideas welcome!

Ds and friends - lego in another room.

Food - party food. Sandwiches, crisps, cornflake cakes.

Party tea: agree with Colditz. do the same for all. e,g pizza; sausages; sandwiches; crips; cherry toms/cucumber slices/carrot sticks. Grapes/orange segments/apple slices/cakes/biscuits. Perhaps add dips for adults/older children.

Party bags for older children: either just a chocolate bar or add a beano/dandy comic?

To occupy them: involve them in running the games for the younger ones? Or as Colditz says, get all your lego/construction stuff out. Like your "tasks" idea. You could also create a treasure hunt?
