it really bothers me that we can't invite all the girls in dd's class

she has 7 people from outside school coming. 2 from a different class. 2 boys from her class. and several girls from her class. total so far - 26 for swimming and pizza party.trouble is, that leaves 2-3 girls from her class out.

i have a real problem with this. i absolutely hate leaving people out. i even want her to invite the girl she hates, so they can 'build bridges'

she's 6, btw. we can't have any more as it'd be chaos! i want to let her have a special party (with no work for us) this time round, as we are moving house the same weekend ( i know, i know..) and she's feeling a bit wobbly about it. but 26+ is just too much! what should i do? have written invitations, but not sent yet.

any ideas?

tia

I'd invite all the girls from her class, personally... 2/3 is too few to leave out if inviting the majority... alternatovely, invite fewer girls from class?

You always get a few who can't make it anyway (hopefully!)

oh dinny, its such a dilemma. trouble is, i'm quite friendly with most of the girls' mums.

have tried to encourage her to have the girls instead of the boys, but she won't budge.

is 28 children at pizza express sheer madness??? (£5 a head- small party next year )

dd went to a Pizza Express party a couple of weeks ago - loved it, and the staff do it all - just invite them all!!! and make sure you have a glass of vino on hand!

noonar · 12/02/2008 20:21

doodle, youre right. i must be mad, but i think i'll let her invite all the girls. also, the ones she doesnt like- who have been a bit unkind in the past- have quite tricky home lives, so i'd feel even worse about leaving them out.

doodle, we actaully need 13 adults for 26 children anyway- adult/ child ratios are v strict at the pool.
