Ds & dd are having joint party in large church hall 94 & 2). Dh works near a haulage company = excellent access to many, many cardboard boxes.

We were thinking of doing very basic cardboard box 'toys' (cars, trains, cookers etc etc) with them, and making a cardboard box city. On the basis that cardboard boxes are the best toys known to our two.

Will it work? Will everyone want the same rocket/car and fight like billy-o?

We can transport them flat packed to venue fairly easily, so practicalities not a concern

Opinions please?

That sounds like a fab idea!

Thats quite an age gap between your two!!

NoBiggy · 05/02/2008 14:05

Gosh that's a massive age gap you have there.

Anyway.

Sounds great. Throw in some bubble wrap and balloons and it should be kiddy heaven.

Ahh! Now my friend did this and the kids had a fab time. She split them into groups and gave each group a selection of boxes and other junk which I think she got from the tip!

Each group made aliens and rocket ships and things and then she did a prize for the best groups creation...

The only negative was that we ended up with my DS's groups creation blowing around our back garden for the next year.

The kids had a fantastic time, go for it!

turkeylurkey - we were rather thinking of encouraging people to take them away at the end of the party (cheap party bag alternative!)

oooh, yes, bubble wrap... big roll to jump on
