a recent trip to the soft play at a leisure center, where I booked for my son's 4th Birthday party, had changed their layout. & used to have two slides but big one was broken and being taken down. They also took the balls off the ball pit now it's an empty space with a few foam block... it's only 1 week away from my party. The person in charge of booking said that she's not aware that if they will fill up the ball pit or add the slide back.
the non-refundable is not the main issue, even if I'm allowed to, I will not be able to book something else at such short notice and I also need to inform all parents the new venue etc... I cannot imagine the hassle.
I have 5 rsvp out of 10 invites, so it's a relatively small number of kids.
I was thinking of 45min to 1 hour play then cake + food + balloons + party bags - play again if they want to. Now with the soft play like that, it's really nothing much, my son was telling me to "go home" after 30min.
Anything I can do so that there won't be any awkward moment? 5 kids maybe not a great number for games, like pass the parcel etc? Hire an entertainer?
