Ideas for a present for DS 18th birthday

DS is 18 in December. I'd like to get him something special that he can keep for years to come.
When I was 18 back in the olden days I was given a pearl necklace.
What's a modern equivalent for a boy / man?

What sort of budget?

I'm not thinking main present because he wants an iPad. So about £50

My DS loved his personalised 18th pint glass and still has it on his shelf.

Definitely nice watch! Much nicer than just tech presents when he’s 60 a PlayStation will be so dated but a watch he could still have.
