How 'essential' is it to have jelly and ice cream at a party?

Becaue it's dd's birthday party on Sunday and I haven't made or planned to make any. Will i be judged forever?
I do have pink iced fairy cakes...

Every party I go to seems to have jelly and/or ice cream but I hate it- hate making it and the taste of it. Dd isn't even that keen either. They will have a sweet choice too though.

Glad to hear it! I made some last year and was swimming in the stuff cos so few children ate it (and I made too much). I'm justifying it by saying it's to reduce the amount of work I have to do at 8 months pg!
