How to amuse the kids at my 40th

I didn't have the heart to tell people to leave their nippers at home for my forthcoming 40th Birthday barndance and face the prospect of 30 odd kids (mostly 7-11) running riot round the village hall.

Anyone got good ideas for keeping those who don't want to dance occupied and out from under everyone's feet?

Or do you think they'll be happy enough with the dancing and I should just stop stressing?

A bouncy castle and lots of balloons

When we had DD's Baptism we hired an entertainer. Even with older kids she could do craft activities, Karoke etc.

But don't stress, kids of that age are generally happy just 'hanging out' - far too cool to do anything else.

stop stressing and let the parents deal with them!

Happy birthday from a fellow-nearly-40-er!

Sit them all down and tell them of the olden days when you were a nipper.

i think that age they will just dance, sit and look etc etc

Get plastered and dance on the table?

Thanks all - I think I'll go with the stop stressing and let them / their parents get on with it option.

I'll probably also go with the getting plastered option which will lead on to sitting them down and telling them all about the olden days too
