Can anyone suggest places to hire for a 3 year old's party?

I'm thinking SW4, SW11, SW12, SW17

Thanks

what sort of place are you looking for? the latchmere does soft play type parties. the clapham manor pool does swimming parties. the soft play at brixton rec does parties. gambado in fulham will do them. or are you looking to hire a hall?

i've always done ours at home. i can recommend an entertainer and face painter if that would help?

TheBlonde · 22/01/2008 14:39

I was thinking of hall plus entertainer

our place is too small to face hosting at home

right. you're near abbeville road aren't you? what about that hall just off there near the main drag of shops? or otherwise there is a pentecostal church on cavendish road (or do i mean poynders?) which also hires out the the hall for parties. do you know that church near the bellevue pub near clapham common tube? they have two halls available for hire.

in terms of entertainers, i can highly recommend Smartie Artie traditional jokes, slapstick and "magic" which the kids lap up.

btw how many are you having? i think a small group would be fine for a 3 yo party and then you could have it at home.

bossykate · 22/01/2008 14:47

the pentecostal church i was talking about is marked here where the arrow is pointing.

TheBlonde · 22/01/2008 14:48

Thanks
Yes I'm near Abbeville although nearer Balham so all your suggesitons are helpful

I am debating organising something vs doing nothing
I haven't thought about how many or anything sensible yet

I know which church you mean, it usually has a big banner out the front I think

and this is the church by the bellevue i was talking about.

TheBlonde · 22/01/2008 14:49

How do these things work do you just call the church office?

bossykate · 22/01/2008 14:50

yup the one on poynders always has a banner saying something suitably christian and exhortatory on it!

aDad · 22/01/2008 14:50

St Paul's, Rectory Grove SW4 also good. Very spacious and it's a nursery during the week so has small loos, small chairs etc.

Smartie Artie has gone down well with my 4 yr old

bossykate · 22/01/2008 14:53

i suppose so! if it were me i would just phone the parish number and ask how to book the hall for a children's party. but how many are you thinking of?

oh i've just thought of something else that our friends have done 2 yrs running.

Children's Party Bus

bossykate · 22/01/2008 15:00

and here is the facepainter - she was excellent.

bossykate · 24/01/2008 10:42

how is it going? have you found somewhere?

peasoup · 26/01/2008 10:50

Huge room upstairs at the Bread and Roses Pub on Clapham Manor Street gets rented out for kids parties. Bonus is adults can nip downstairs and bring back a pint or you can have a barman upstairs with you but costs extra. I think the hire is £60 and no real time limit.

TheBlonde · 31/01/2008 19:49

thanks for all the suggestions

party kinda slipped down the priorities list so I haven't done anything further yet
