Help! Totally forgotten to get birthday presents for joint party this weekend for two boys in DD's class. Turning 8. Don't know them at all (just the mums a bit!).

Present ideas that work for most 8 year old boys? I'm hopeless with boy presents! Thanks v much in advance. (Prime friendly ideas would be great!)

Books are usual go-tos, in my opinion.
You can make printable wall calendars with Harry Potter or Marvel characters like Spidey. Probably DD can help if she knows who their favorites are.
Stationery sets, like this dinosaur one: www.amazon.com/ALFRDHOS-Stationery-Sharpener-Removable-Velociraptor/dp/B09JC6ZMCQ/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=Kids+Stationery&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1643874756&sr=8-5

Nerf guns, Lego, Tom Gates books etc went down with my DS a couple of years ago. He also got a load of science kits!

Hexbug mini crossbow, under a tenner on Amazon. My lot have had endless fun with it, its very sturdy - small boys love it!

Thank you! Great ideas here! Any specific book recommendations as well as Tom Gates (though I do like all the recommendations, thanks!)

Diary of a wimpy kid books are popular with that age. You can usually get them 2for £7 on Amazon too.

If stuck I often do a £5 Amazon gift voucher (can do online or in some supermarkets) and a pack of sweets!

This fact book is great https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0008492190?psc=1&ref=ppxpoppmobbbasintitll_e
And it's only £2 and it's prime!

I'd do that and either a fiver or tenner (whatever the usual amount is in your school) or sweets or something
