People who've given their child a party at home
Mine will be 8
What did you do? Did you do party games? How long did you spend on them?
How did it go?
The last time I have mine a party at home was when she was 3 or 4.
Any advice welcomed

2 hours max.
Simple food - pizza, nuggets, Crisps, sausage rolls, veg sticks . Or order pizzas or McDs.
A craft activity - we did paint your own mugs.
A couple of organised games - like treasure hunt and pinata.
Temporary tattoos.
A lot of running around being silly.

From what I can remember, we had about 10 in total. I bought multi-packs of white t shirts (about £2 per t shirt), some fabric pens and paints, fabric glue and little gems + ribbons and they had a great time. I put a film on when they finished and they ate whilst watching it.

What are her interests? I run a Brownies unit with girls of the same age and i have seen loads of ideas from other groups such as:
Escape room style treasure hunt
Harry Potter "potion making"
Making slime or similar
Unicorn theme e.g. decorate biscuits, "pin the tail/horn on the unicorn"
Inflatable or giant garden games
Tye die or decorating t-shirts/mugs/flowerpots

Have a look on Pinterest if she has a particular theme in mind there will be loads of inspiration

I hosted a party for my niece's 9th birthday, we had McDonalds desserts and baked small pizzas (I got simple ingridients and frozen pizza dough). Can't remember all the games but there were lots of them, I think you can get some ideas from www.sitters.co.uk/blog/the-top-14-party-games-for-kids.aspx or www.brisbanekids.com.au/20-fun-party-games-for-kids/
I've also prepared small prizes for the winners, there were sweets, crayons, coloring calendars I did on my own and hair accessories. The decorations were simple, we had a 'Happy Birthday' sign and tons of balloons.
2 or 2.5 hours total.
