Hi, I'm going to be having a Charlie and Lola party for my little boy. He has an egg allergy so I'm wondering if anyone has any great recipes for an egg free sponge cake so I can make him a cake. Also, has anyone got any ideas? I'm new to this whole party thing! I've made a big sizzles to do "pin the tail on sizzles" and got the usual plates, cups, straws etc and we'll have pink milk. What do kids eat at parties?

depending on age of children u could make plain egg free fairy cakes adn let them ice them adn sprinkle themselves! make diff colour icing with food colouignr!

I think I would have to do ocean nibbles, cloud fluff, green drops and orange twiglets if it were me!

Biscuits. Lola likes biscuits A LOT. Especially party rings and jammie dodgers.

How old is your DS? Games are hard for the under-4s. You could have a Charlie & Marvs football game or swirly tennis.

You could put down an enormous sheet of paper so they could draw 'my little town'.

You could photocopy the characters and enlarge them, back them onto card and cut them into jigsaws. Then either have a race to see who can finish their jigsaw first OR give each one a cryptic piece of jigsaw and they have to guess who it is.

Do a treasure hunt by sticking little Charlie & Lola's around the house. Either they have to follow them OR they have to collect as many as they can find.

Or do some craft - give them a character to dress up as the sun etc. Always have the craft ready to go, pre-cut shapes etc. Otherwise it takes hours and they'll all stick their hair together with the glue instead.

Have fun!
