boys 7th birthday party

what should i do? ds1 will be seven, do I have a couple of boys at home which will probably lead to them wrecking the house. ds1 birthday is in october so weather may not be good, or do I bite the bullet and have a football or climbing party which will end up costing about £200.00

I think the cost is far too high or am i being tight?

How about going to see a film with a few friends? or going bowling with a few friends and a pizza afterwards?

For DS1's 7th we took 7 pals bowling (roped in another mum to help) and then back here for picnic and playing in garden.

Weather not good, then have them in the house, just for an hour? Or do the food at bowling £8/head here so just take 3 or 4. I agree £200 far too much.

Cinema party here (Showcase) was great for DS1 8th this year, again £8/head, plus we did some food (party included ice cream and popcorn). 10 kids in total, cost £80 plus a bit of food and party bags.

he now wants a football party. 145.00 for ten kids. this includes, medals for all kids, food, party bags and trophy for birthday boy and two others.

then we will have to have a tab open at the bar for tea and coffees so probably another 30.00 so say 175.00

i dont let kids walk over me or my property ( metaphorically ) so, friends over for tea - meant an array of sandwiches and other finger food - jelly ice cream and a cake. they can then watch dvd or play on a game thingy - this happens after school so i dont have to spend too much time with other peopes kids - then they get picked up at around 7.30 8

so if my kid said they want a fotball party - i would say " tought shit mate"

local leisure centre do football party which would come to £70.00 I would provide food and party bags so tops £120.00, but could have more than ten kids.

Dont know what to do

£145 for 10 kids is very expensive imho.

food will be crap as well (if that bothers you - it does me!)

Leisure centre one sounds better to me.
