We've decided against a bike for now. She's ahving a small picnic party for some friends and we'll do a family day out/meal type thing as well. But present from me and dh??? and grandparents will be asking for ideas too soon.

help! SHe's creative, arty... er... she loves pets but she aint getting one!

I know I'm being pathetic but this year I really don't have a clue. HELP!

are bindeez just like hama beads, if so a great present.

LIZS · 23/08/2007 17:12

.. but perhaps not so great, twinset, if you are receiving them !

I was after ideas yesterday for dd . Sylvanian Families seemed popular but we are trying to avoid starting any new collections. Wondering about a Furreal animal (we already have a FR kitten)

twinsetandpearls · 23/08/2007 17:14

they don;t really bother me but dp is always moaning about finding little beads all over the carpet.

Tamum · 23/08/2007 17:17

I like new collections, you can just go on mindlessly adding to them every Christmas Dd has a Furreal friend that I thought she'd love but after a bit of interest the first day it's never been seen again. I don't know if you can still get them but there's also a thing called Doggy Daycare which comes in various sets and sizes, she loved those too.

LIZS · 23/08/2007 17:19

Isn't Doggy Daycare on the Mattel recall list ?

Tamum · 23/08/2007 17:22

Yes, it is. I don't see any issue unless you have toddlers around though really- dd didn't put anything in her mouth after she was about 18 months. It's because the dogs have magnets in them to attach to the babies.

LilianGish · 23/08/2007 17:40

My dd, also 6, has a Furreal cat - she LOVES it. Was really reluctant to get it - I actually find it quite spooky - but for her it is a real pet substitute.

MatNanPlus · 23/08/2007 20:07

sortof Twinsetandpearls

You arrange the beads in the choosen design or make your own on the supplied palate and spray with water and leave to set! takes 30-45mins then hey presto a 'thing'

Not as strong as hama beads so not good as key fobs.

MatNanPlus · 23/08/2007 20:08

tamacotchi?

spudmasher · 23/08/2007 20:17

My DD2 is 6 next week she has asked for a desk with a lift up lid to keep all her arty bits and bobs in.
Can't wait to give it to her and see her sitting there doing her stuff!

tassisssss · 23/08/2007 20:20

MatNanPlus - those bindeez things look fab! we have a wee 6 year old girl to buy gift for and I was totally uninspired (my oldest is a 4yo boy!). Can you get them in regualar shops?

Moomin · 23/08/2007 21:15

Thanks for these - has set my rusty old cogs going again. The Furreal animals are spooky - there's one in the window of our local Cats Protection League and it makes me jump everytime we go past! Think she'd love it.

She also started making noises about Baby Annabel today, so I've got a few things to look at now... hurrah
