It's my friends DD's 7th birthday on Mon.
They are away on holiday so can't quiz mum.
No idea at all as to what to buy.

She plays piano, is very into gymnastics, got most of those wish fairy books, she's quite girly. Has loads of books and stuff already.

I bought her the Sound of Music DVD and singalong CD for Xmas cos she ws really into musicals at the time.

Ummmm, what can I buy her for her birthday?

My sister has just bought my 6 yo a high school musical dance mat for her b'day.

Other than that any kind of decorating/making kit - jewelry, weaving bags, pottery etc.

thomcat · 14/08/2007 14:05

Hmmm a musical dance mat aye, sounds good. Off to google that now, thanks.

Also found a High School Musical Easy Piano book which might be good.

Thanks girls.

Any more ideas always welcome though

£19.99 in Argos, I think.

Ceolas · 14/08/2007 14:18

Hama beads galore with my 7 year old DD.

Book token too boring? Mine would love it.

UnquietDad · 14/08/2007 14:21

Gwyneth Rees book?
Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty on DVD?
There's a Disney compilation with all the "princess" songs on which my 7yo DD loves.

thomcat · 14/08/2007 14:52

Thanks for the ideas, am most grateful.

She's kind of already grown out of Disney princesses, I think.

Will google other ideas.

Thank you.

My dds really like Sylvanian Families. Can highly recommend the canal boat & windmill.

seb1 · 14/08/2007 14:54

DD loves Bindeez (like Hama beads but you don't iron them)

babygrand · 14/08/2007 14:55

Be kind to her mum and buy her anything which she can play with on her own during the summer holidays...

My DD loves her bright pink Geomag (magnetic strips and balls which make lots of different shapes.

The birthday girl sounds sporty, so what about Swingball?

MY DD also loves a good encyclopaedia. The Usborne ones are great.

Anything to do with hair, braiders, beaders. Anything crafty, pig painting etc. A really special art set perhaps or yes, sadly anything to do with Bratz.

PatsyCline · 14/08/2007 15:02

Just to say that my neive when she was seven loved the Animal Hospital range - sounds smiliar to the vet range mentioned below.

EllieG · 14/08/2007 15:03

I think that might be what I was thinking about

Fennel · 14/08/2007 15:07

My 7yo dd likes anything to do with animals, and bugs. She likes Animal Hospital stuff, Sylvanian families, geomag, sporty stuff - things to do with cycling, roller-skating, swimming. Books (fiction and non-fiction). Art and craft always popular.

She doesn't like pink, or dolls. or princess or fluffy stuff. She likes pirates.
