Ideas for 80s fancy dress

I've been invited to a fancy dress party where we all have to go 80s stylee.
Can anyone suggest what I could wear?
I hate fancy dress!

80s fashion was all ra ra skirts, backwing jumpers, peddal pushers, drainpipe jeans, leg warmers, fingerless gloves, neon socks (especially cool if you wore a different colour on each foot!), puffball skirts, tucker boots, big slogans on T shirts,and belts worn around the waist of your nasty patterned shirt!

Maybe a banana clip in your hair, if you can get hold of one!

Denim in a nasty snow wash was seen as very cool in the 80s!

How about a Dallas or Dynasty theme. Much easier on the DHs too, as they get to be JR with a hat, shirt, jeans and boots, while you glam it up with shoulder pads and big hair. Charity shops are full of shoulder padded outfits!
