1st birthday party what did you do?

Ok so my DD (darling daughter) is going to be 1 soon and I don't know what to do for her party I have a general idea I'm thinking a garden party/bbq hopefully if the weather is good but I don't know if I should have two party's for her as she has quite a lot of friends and family who want to see her and should I go somewhere with her ie the zoo aquarium ect just me her and my husband either on her birthday or the day before?

Please can you let me know what you did or are planning to do for your little ones 1st birthday? any ideas tips or advice will be greatly appreciated thanks xx

Had a shared picnic under a tree that I used to sit under and wonder what it was going to be like being a mother.
Family, neighbours , and friends from baby groups.
She’s fifteen this summer

We had a big party, 100 people. It was instead of a christening and to celebrate finally havi g children after many hard years of ivf.
I would not do the zoo thing as well. 1 year olds don't care that they are at a zoo. Even aged 2 mine used to chase the pigeons and ignore the gorillas. Obviously if you fancy a zoo trip or whatever then go fir it, but you really don't need to.

Went out for afternoon tea. At 1 they don’t even know it’s their birthday, any celebration is for the benefit of adults and older kids.
