Help! Looking for inspiration for a 'grown ups' fancy dress party!

Dh & I been invited to a 60', 70's & 80's house party next week. tbh it's not really our sort of thing but do think it will be a laugh so have decided to go but dressed as what? We have looked on ebay but most of the stuff seems to be in really small sizes. I quite fancy dressing in 60's gear. Any ideas anyone please? Would be good if I could put something together myself to save some money.

Thanks everyone. I like Steed & Mrs Peel but dh wants to be a hippy! Am going into town tomorrow so am going to scour the charity shops see if there are any hippy chick things for me.
