6th birthday party ideas

I don’t think I can handle another class party after last year’s when all parents decided to stay and watch (not help, watch) for 2 hours.
DS switches between wanting whole class, to wanting a small group of friends (5+ sister). I’m trying to veer him towards this option but am a bit stuck for ideas. We’re fairlu rural but could book trampoline park etc. Any great tips?

Local smallish zoo does parties. Anyone tried this sort of thing? Personably just as good to take a group to the zoo with a picnic.
DS is not particularly adventurous at the moment, and a bit anxious, so very active things are out this year.
