4th Birthday Party Ideas

Good Morning

My son turns 4 in April and I have been thinking to have a birthday party for him as it's his last year with all his friends from nursery.

I am struggling with ideas for this party. All ideas and suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

The easiest parties I've done are soft-play centre parties. Hire it for an hour or so, parents can stay and chat in the cafe if they wish and several places will also provide catering.
I've also had a magician/balloon modeller which went down well and DS recently enjoyed a party where they had a mini petting zoo turn up in a van with various animals for the kids to cuddle and stroke. The whole party was animal themed, from the invites to the games and cake.
One of my DD also went to a Teddy Bears's picnic party but it was in the summer in the park.

What is he into? And how many children will you want to invite?

I normally hire the local village hall, get a bouncy castle, some craft things on a table and run a few party games. It is fairly easy and goes down well.

Depending on how much you'd like to spend, you could hire a soft play as already suggested, or a small hall or even have it at home.
Depending on what he's into, you could do a lego themed party, or a superhero theme, whatever he likes.

How many kids? We just did DD’s at home with 16 kids- a craft, games, party tea and we were sorted. Won’t pretend it wasn’t hard work, but she loved it and it was pretty cheap.

What are his interests? Does he have a particular passion? If so theme it around that as he is old enough now to really appreciate having a party geared towards his favourite things. In reality fill a room with balloons, music, toys and food. Then organise a few traditional party games and your 2hrs are up. At 4 most kids can’t handle too much more.
