DDs 3rd birthday - and thinking of a Restauranty type party .........

anyone got any recommendations

(and no, I'm not thinking McDonalds ...)

was wondering if Tootsies was still ok with this sort of thing etc etc etc

any thoughts and wisdom greatly appreciated

3 is a hard age I think ... no real friends as yet. Most of her friends are our friends lo's - also will be a few littler ones there too ...

to be honest at this age I prefer the at home parties..

I let DD choose her own friends this time..

She had 5 girls of similar ages...

I bought some crafty things to make and decorate and they loved it...

Do you have room in your house to accomate?

but that is the thing - they didn't run around! I think because there happened to be 5 girls, they all sat and did the craftie stuff and then ate their lunch, I was amazed.

Do you have a garden?

Anyway if not at home, then do you have a party house near you? We have one here in Swindon and it is really good.

the thing is there will probably be a few oldies there as well (ie the parents) ... am in the process of pricing a few of the local establishments to hire a room etc - those that are child friendly of course

I don't have a link for our one - it is a small privately owned on so no chain..

I have to go know and watch Lost (whilst I iron) as I have to get DD in less than 1 hr!

I'll come back later with some more idea...

Am ROFL at the thought of a bunch of pre-schoolers in a restaurant, even if they are beautifully behaved
DD had friends over, dressed as fairies, made fairy wands etc, danced to Abba in front of a bubble machine. Lovely.

Picks self up off floor - now, if you want a 'nice' softplay with decent coffee etc, playtime at shepperton is a good bet.

heifer - ah yes, thank you for your link too ... perhaps for next year though, as you say I think 3 may be a little too young to fully appreciate!
