DD will be 4 in a few weeks so she is having a small party of her friends from nursery, pass the parcel, hunt the unicorn (better you don't ask) and nibbles - no worries there.

The parents (mums I expect) will be coming too and as it's a lunchtime I'll feed them too - question is.....

what would you like to nibble at a party? I am fairly proficient so tasty ideas welcomed!

How about blinis (sp?) you could have different tasty toppings but they are small enough to shove in your mouth if you have to dash off to assist/control your dc.

Bruschetta type things or open sandwiches.
Mind you I'm such a buffet ho I'd eat the pizza, mini sausages/whatever the wee ones are having. Probably

mmm yes - I was wondering about feta and roasted red pepper, caramelised onion that sort of thing.

Falafel anyone?

Dairylea Lunchables - they put the fun back into Lunchtime.
Or so says MN home page.

i had ds' 4th birthday at the weekend and I knew most of the parents would stay (also lunchtime)

I did a cheeseboard for grown ups that went down well, and we polished off a lot of the kids leftovers too!

Children had fruit platters (strawberries, melon, banana, grapes and pineapple) with optional chocolate sauce. This was a hit with both children and parents.

i think most adults are v happy to eat kids party food so just make lots and let the parents know they're welcome to pick!
